Hello, my name is Jessica Alexandria and I am the proud author of the Alice Grim Rose blog!
I am a filmmaker and author, having recently published my first novel The Murder Society, and I own my own indie production company called Grimrose Studios.
I started this blog back in 2020, when I still identified with the pen name Alice Grim Rose. Before starting this blog I had no interest in writing, nor did I even like horror! But during lockdown in 2020 during Covid-19 I was bored and wanted something to do. I have always been interested in crafts and all things creative; I love arts and crafts, knitting, theater, acting and singing. My mother suggested to me I try writing poems or short stories, it’s a creative art. So I gave it a go! I was never interested in horror, hell, even Coraline scared me! But when I sat down at my laptop and wrote a short story with no previous experience and no idea of what I even wanted to write, it came out as a horror story. I was surprised that every story I wrote came out with dark subject matter. After writing a couple short stories my confidence grew and I wanted to share them with the world, so I started this blog! Week after week I’d write dozens of short stories and upload them here.

Sadly, I have been neglecting my blog these past couple of years due to all of the projects I have been a part of. From writing and directing short films, audio series, acting and more, I have not been writing short stories. But thankfully now that my life has slowed down I can make this blog one of my main priorities again.
Now that I’ve explained my blog a little bit, I’ll tell you about myself!
I enjoy playing horror, survival and puzzle games, my most recent video game playthrough has been The Last Of Us part 2.
I have 2 small dogs, one very furry and one hairless, as well as 2 black cats.
I spent the last couple years moving all around Ontario but now I reside in a border town.
My favorite author is Stehanie Garber and I actually have a tattoo inspired by her novel Caraval.
I’d say my favorite short story on my blog is The Desperate Rope, if you have not read it yet I recommend you give it a read!
