Pax is a book written by the lovely Sara PennyPacker, and illustrated by Jon Klassen.
Through this book you follow a young boy named Peter, and his pet fox Pax, they have been inseparable ever since Pax was a kit.
But one day Peter’s Father enlists in the military and forces Peter to return Pax to the wild. He is then forced to live with his Grandfather 300 miles away from his home, where he grew up, as well as the forest he had left Pax in.
Out of heartbreak and bravery Peter ventures out in the middle of the night to try and find Pax and get him back home safely. It may be a hard journey, but Peter makes a new friend on the way.
Will he make it to the forest before Pax is lost forever?
I honestly love this book, It is definitely in my top 10 favourite books!
There is commitment as well as hard decisions to make, love and loss, (I may have cried a couple times).
It is truly a magical book, and if you have not read it yet, then write it down on your ‘Books I must read list!
