Spread the love

The next morning I went around and hung up a couple missing posters for Grace, the nightmares I had last night put me in a depressed mood. Why would my dreams want to torture me like that? I tried to not think about them too much, I tried to think of happier things instead. Like my date with Noah, he does seem really nice. I hope that our relationship goes somewhere in the future. I hung up a poster on a street lamp, there were dozens of other pamphlets and posters on the street lamp already. I hope the missing poster gets noticed.

“Hello?” I heard a woman come up behind me, I jumped.

“Oh hi Clair.” I said. Clair was the blond women who ran The Lavender Cafe.

“What are you doing here Chloe?” She asked. She was a little older then me, but only by a few years.

“I am hanging up a poster for Grace.”

“Ah okay. Grace is your sister correct?” She asked. I nodded.

“Wait, scratch that. She was your Sister?”

“Just leave Clair.” I turned and walked to another street lamp. We used to be friends, but ever since Grace disappeared she has acted different around me, almost like she thinks I’m a bad luck charm.

“No, I have privilege to walk down this sidewalk just like everyone else Chloe.” Clair followed Chloe down the street.

“Seriously, just go.” I said as I turned to her.

“I will. Once you stop hanging up posters for your Sister. I know you miss her Chloe, but she has been gone for five years now! You can’t really expect her to come back now can you?” Clair put her hands on her hips.

“Sure I can. I-” My phone started ringing in my pocket.

I shot a mean gaze at Clair as I answered the call.

“Hello?”

”Hi Chloe, we need you to come down to the police station. It’s about your sister Grace.”

“Oh my god… Did you find her? Is she okay? Oh Grace!” Hope built up inside of me, was she okay? Did they finally find her?

“No Chloe. We found her body.”
